Installation method:-
No additional software required. Just click—click--- next---- finish method. If you use Vtiger installer .exe files which will install MYSQL, APACHE and PHP. This setup creates an environment to run Vtiger you need not to worry. You have to install it only in a normal PC. This has only the Server version so you don’t have to install any other Client version this is web based CRM. This software runs through Intranet as well as through Internet. By default it use MYSQL port 3307 and Apache 81 port so from your local machine that is Vtiger server you may run Vtiger by http://localhost:81 and from other machine with in Intranet by http://<server ip>:81 (here server ip is where you install Vtiger server version). To access it from outside the Intranet you have to NAT this IP with a Public IP.

Draw back of Vtiger 5.0.4 In previous version like Vtiger 5.0.3 you may upload thousand and thousand leads at a time it will continue upload non stop. But in Vtiger 5.0.4 you may only upload 500 leads at time. | Common Drawback (Backup Issue)
In both cases I found backup storage method i.e. when Admin login and gets log out then the backup SQL dump file created in a FTP folder specified by the user.  I found the way to get rid of it.
You may use MYSQL administrator GUI tool to take backup and restore this. It is working fine you have to configure GUI tool to schedule auto backup with this tool. If want to know auto backup schedule procedure please click here. Make sure of it that Vtiger Server must be running before taking and restoring backup. If you use simple Vtiger 5.0.3 or Vtiger 5.0.4 you may use NAVICAT backup tool which is not freeware. You may use this tool to schedule backup and restore. It is not a free software you may find it in www.navicat.com.
